Going back and forth in different possible futures, throwing light, and building scenarios for tomorrow in different contexts, we acknowledge problems and try to address them today.

Tomorrow is interdisciplinary, or rather, multidisciplinary, and we bring it in Ishanya21, to spark curiosity, questions, and conversations in the context of the future and see how can we bring change in what we do today.

ABOUT ISHANYA

Ishanya is the Annual Festival of Design, Art, and Technology hosted by the students of the Department of Design (DoD) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.

Ishanya is the region’s largest creative festival, reflecting Guwahati’s position as the design capital of the North East. What started as a grassroots festival for the Department of Design, has quickly expanded and built a rapidly growing design network, driven by young designers.

The Festival is a platform for the showcase of ideas, thoughts, and projects as well as a catalyst for the growth of the creative community in the North East. The varied program of the festival consists of design-related events, exhibitions, competitions, talks, keynotes, and workshops across multiple creative disciplines. These serve to create a platform for interaction between current and aspiring design students, design professionals, industry experts, academicians, and educational institutions.
